Mamata Banerjee also highly appreciated Bangladesh's tremendous socioeconomic development under Hasina's leadership
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee greeted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as she was awarded the Doctorate of Literature (D. Litt) degree by Kazi Nazrul University in Asansol, India.
The West Bengal chief minister extended her greetings when she made a courtesy call on PM Sheikh Hasina at Hotel Taj Bengal, Kolkata on Saturday.
Prime minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters after the meeting.
He said Mamata thanked the prime minister for visiting West Bengal and joining the convocations of Bisva Bharati University and Kazi Nazrul University.
She also highly appreciated Bangladesh's tremendous socioeconomic development under Hasina's leadership.
Prime Minister Hasina also praised Mamata for making remarkable development in West Bengal, particularly setting up Kazi Nazrul University and Kazi Nazrul Airport in Asansol.
Sheikh Hasina went to India on Friday at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
