Indian Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu is likely to visit Bangladesh in June to discuss further promotion of bilateral trade and commerce between the two friendly countries.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to India, Syed Muazzem Ali, called on Prabhu on Wednesday at his office in New Delhi to convey an invitation from Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed.
Prabhu accepted the invitation, saying he would like to make the visit in June.
He expressed his satisfaction at the growing level of trade and commerce between India and Bangladesh. But he said there is much to improve.
The Indian minister showed keen interest in travelling through rural areas of Bangladesh during the visit to see for himself the government's poverty-reduction programs and development activities.
Prabhu also holds charge of the Aviation Ministry.
