Dhaka concerned over North Korea’s ballistic missile launch

Bangladesh on Wednesday expressed “grave concern” over the recent launching  of an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) by North Korea.

In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, Bangladesh said North Korea has shown total disregard to the relevant UN Security Council resolutions by launching the missile.

"Bangladesh would like to call upon Democratic People's Republic of Korea to honour its international obligation and commitments and refrain from such show of force and defiance," reads the statement.

As a signatory to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, Bangladesh said it would continue to work with the international community for the renunciation of the use of force in international relations and for general and complete disarmament.The article was first published in Bangla Tribune
