US to provide additional $47m for Rohingya refugees
United States will provide an additional $47m in humanitarian assistance for the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson made this announcement in Myanmar's Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday. This will sum up the total United States’ assistance in Bangladesh for the refugee crisis to $83m since August 2017, according to a press release by US embassy in Dhaka. The assistance will go to its international organization partners on the ground, including the International Organization for Migration (IOM), UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Unicef, and World Food Program (WFP), which help provide protection, emergency shelter, food and nutritional assistance, as well as health care and psychological support for the displaced Rohingya from the Rakhine State.
