US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Thomas A Shannon is set to arrive in Dhaka on a two-day visit on Sunday, November 5.
He will co-lead the US-Bangladesh Partnership Dialogue and discuss regional issues, including the Rohingya crisis, with government and non-government officials of Bangladesh.
Following his visit to Bangladesh, Undersecretary Shannon will then travel to Colombo, where he will participate in the US-Sri Lanka Partnership Dialogue and meet with the senior Sri Lankan government officials and members of civil society on Tuesday, November 7.
US Department of State spokesperson Heather Nauert is also visiting Dhaka
to discuss the ongoing Rohingya crisis, joining a delegation of the Department of State led by acting assistant secretary of state Simon Henshaw who are already in Bangladesh.
