OIC secretary general praises Bangladesh's success in curbing terrorism

Dr Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen, secretary general of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has highly praised Bangladesh's success in countering terrorism. He made the statement while talking to media after holding a meeting with Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali on Thursday. Dr Yousef said: "There is no scope for terrorism in Islam. Bangladesh has successfully countered the terrorism which are carried out in the name of Islam. Bangladesh's firm stance on this issue is certainly praiseworthy." "All member countries of OIC will be with Bangladesh," he added. The OIC secretary general has proposed for an integrated road-map to resolve the Rohingya crisis in Bangladesh. He also urged the international community to be with Bangladesh in resolving the crisis. Appreciating Bangladesh's step to move the Rohingya camp to Thengar Char Island he said: "I do highly appreciate Bangladesh's support to the Muslim community Rohingya while they were persecuted in their homeland." OIC Secretary General Dr Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen arrived in Dhaka for a four-day visit Wednesday night. This is his first visit to Bangladesh since he assumed the office of OIC secretary general in November last year. Dr Yousef’s is leading a five-member delegation. Dr Yousef scheduled to pay official visits to President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday.
