The July trip of Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to Bangladesh has been postponed.
The decision to stall the visit was officially conveyed to the Bangladeshi authorities through a letter on Tuesday, reports Bangla Tribune.
However, the Indian authorities did not mention the reason behind the move in the letter, according to a Bangladeshi foreign ministry official.
Jaitley, who has been serving as India's finance minister since the Narendra Modi-led ruling BJP came into office, was to arrive in Dhaka on July 2 at the invitation of his Bangladeshi counterpart, AMA Muhith.
Other than attending a series of official meetings, Jaitley was scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on July 3. According to the previous itinerary, he was to return to India on July 4.
