The Cabinet on Monday approved “The agreement between the government of the peoples republic of Bangladesh and the government of the people’s republic of India For the regulation of motor vehicle passenger traffic between the two countries” and “Protocol on operation of passenger bus service between Dhaka in Bangladesh and Kolkata in India via Khulna in terms of the aforementioned.”
The draft of the proposal new route from Bangladesh to India has been approved during a weekly cabinet meeting held at Bangladesh Secretariat, presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Shafiul Alam cabinet secretary said: “Under the agreement, a new route to Kolkata from Dhaka via Mawa, Gopalganj, Khulna, Jessore, Benapole will be opened.”
