Dhaka Tribune had its grand launching event of the Sports Tribune monthly magazine in the capital’s Gulshan Club yesterday.
During the event, players from the Bangladesh Premier League franchise Khulna Titans were present to get a closer look at the monthly English sports magazine, which takes on a brand new and improved look with glossy pages.
The Titans players included head coach Mahela Jayawardene, Ireland opening batsman Paul Stirling, South African all-rounder David Wiese, English batsman Dawid Malan, West Indian all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite, Zimbabwean wicketkeeper-batsman Brendan Taylor and Pakistani spinner Yasir Shah and seamer Junaid Khan, among others.
The monthly Sports Tribune magazine is the first ever for an English daily newspaper in Bangladesh where all local and international sports are covered, along with exclusive interviews and analysis to cater to sports lovers.
Sports Tribune started its journey as a weekly eight-page magazine in 2017 and it grew to a 32-page monthly magazine in 2018.
And now, due to popular demand, it sees its biggest change to a fully glossy 54-page monthly magazine.
Dhaka Tribune Editor Zafar Sobhan, along with the Khulna Titans owner Kazi Inam Ahmed were also present during the event.
Players of the Bangladesh men’s and women’s football teams were also present, including Mamunul Islam, Mamun Miah, Tapu Barman and Jamal Bhuiyan.
BFF General Secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag and women’s wing committee Chairperson Mahfuza Akter Kiron also graced the occasion.
The Sports Tribune magazine is sold for Tk100 but for the first edition, it is going at a 50% discount price.
Readers can also avail a year-long subscription for Tk300.
