Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI) hosted a grand celebration of German Folk Festival, Oktoberfest on Friday at The German Club Dhaka.
Leisure Bangladesh and Jamuna Bank co-sponsored the event.
While inaugurating the event, President of BGCCI Omar Sadat said: “As a bi-lateral chamber of Bangladesh and Germany, BGCCI always puts efforts to celebrate the cultural events of both countries. The Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture that unites people from different countries worldwide.”
He added that Oktoberfest also demonstrates that people can come together and share happiness without drawing any lines or thinking about petty differences of color and race.
“BGCCI, as a bi-lateral chamber, inherits this culture as its own,” added the BGCCI President.
Among others, Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh Winnie Estrup Petersen, Ambassador and Head of Delegation of The European Union to Bangladesh Rensje Teerink, Executive Chairman of BEPZA Major General Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan, and President of Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DBCCI) Faruque Hassan, were also present at the event.
