Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy in places

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusts are likely to occur at different places across Bangladesh during the next 24 hours.

Rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, at one or two places over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and the regions of Comilla, and Noakhali with hails at isolated places, according to a forecast of Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Saturday.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, reports UNB.

Besides, mild heat wave has been seen to be sweeping over Sylhet division and the regions of Dhaka, Madaripur, Rangamati, Noakhali,Feni, Rajshahi, Jashore, Bagerhat and Patuakhali.

Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Meanwhile, maritime ports of Chittaoong, Cox's bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted distant cautionary signal no 1 as a well-marked low over equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining South Bay intensified into a depression and then a deep depression around 9am on Saturday over the same area.

It is likely to intensify further and move in a northwesterly direction towards Andhra-Tamilnadu coast of India. Trough of westerly low lies over west Bengal & adjoining area, according to Met office.

Sea will remain moderate near the depression centre.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to proceed with caution until further notice.
