Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at places in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in the next 24 hours due to fairly active monsoon over the country.
"Due to heavy to very heavy rainfall, landslides may occur at places in the hilly regions of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions," a release from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said, reports BSS.
It said: "Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary southernly or south-easternly gust with wind speed of 45-60kmph, are likely to occur in the regions of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Jessore, Kushtia, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Cox's Bazar wherein riverports shall hoist cautionary signal number one."
Furthermore, temperature during both day and night may fall slightly.
Bangladesh’s highest temperature on Monday was recorded 34°C at Chuadanga and Ishwardi and minimum temperature 24.3°C at Rajarhat.
The highest rainfall was recorded 145mm at Hatiya.
