The 4 were caught red-handed and will face legal action, says Executive Magistrate Maidul Islam
Three incumbent and former union parishad (UP) chairmen and a local Chhatra League leader have been detained on charges of snatching ballots during the Gouripur municipality polls in Mymensingh.
The suspects are Ramgopalpur UP Chairman Abdullah Alamin Jony, Achintapur UP Chairman Shahidul Islam Shahid, former Sahanhati UP chairman Dulal Ahmed and Chhatra League leader Kauser Miah.
Local police detained them from the Gouripur Government College polling centre around 12:30pm on Saturday, reports Bangla Tribune.
Confirming the matter, Executive Magistrate Maidul Islam said the four were caught red-handed and will face legal action.
