The fourth phase of the municipality polls are set to be held on February 14, with 56 municipalities holding elections that day, the Election Commission has said.
Election Commission Senior Secretary Md Alamgir announced the polls schedule during a press briefing at the EC headquarters on Sunday, according to media reports.
Votes will be cast through electronic voting machines (EVMs) in 31 of the municipalities, while the rest will use traditional paper ballots, the EC senior secretary said.
As per the schedule, the last date for submission of nomination papers is January 16, nomination papers will be scrutinized on January 19 and the last date for withdrawal of candidacy is January 26.
On Monday, December 28, the Election Commission organized elections to 24 municipalities in 23 districts of the country in the first phase of the municipality polls. In the first phase, all votes were cast through EVMs.
A total 62 municipalities are set to hold elections in the second phase on January 15, with 30 of the municipalities using EVMs. A further 64 municipalities will hold polls in the third phase on January 30.
