Jatiya Party (JaPa) Secretary General Md Mashiur Rahman Ranga has said their candidate will win with at least 1 lakh more votes in the upcoming Rangpur 3 by-polls.

He also said that the party, along with the divisional organizational team, will prepare its candidate list way before the next national election.

He made the statement at a press briefing held after a meeting with the divisional organizational team, in Jatiya Party chairman's office on Sunday.

Mashiur Rahman Ranga said: "The Rangpur 3 constituency has been supporting the party since 1986, and hopefully they will support us this time too.

"An 11-member special committee has been formed, having Golam Muhammad Kader as the convener and me as member secretary," he added.

Campaigning for the newly nominated Rahgir Al Mahi alias Saad Ershad, eldest son of JaPa founding chairman late HM Ershad and party co-chairman Raushan Ershad, has already started in different wards, said the JaPa secretary general.

He added: "HM Ershad himself expelled his nephew, Asif, from the party. Although Asif participated in the Rangpur city election, he will have no role to play in the upcoming election."
