EC clears candidacy of BNP's Farhana for reserved seat

Farhana submitted her nomination paper to Election Commission on the last day of nomination paper submission


The Election Commission on Tuesday announced the nomination paper of BNP candidate Barrister Rumeen Farhana, valid for the reserved seat for women in the 11th parliament.

The commission made the declaration after scrutinizing her nomination paper, Returning Officer Md Abul Kashem said, reports BSS.

If Farhana does not withdraw her candidacy, she would be elected unopposed on May 28 as she was the lone candidate for the reserved seat for women from the BNP, he said.

Farhana submitted her nomination paper to the Election Commission on the last day of nomination paper submission on Monday.

The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is May 28, Kashem said.
