Sufia Kamal hall union member skips Ganabhaban event

A total of 259 newly elected student leaders have been invited to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official residence

Update : 16 Mar 2019, 08:02 PM

Sufia Kamal hall union member elect, Lamiya Tanjin Tanha, is not accompanying the newly elected Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) and hall union leaders to the meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Tanha, who demands cancellation of the March 11 polls, said she has not changed her stance just because she was among the winners.

“We boycotted the polls which were marred by large scale rigging. I stand by my decision, even though I won,” Tanha told Bangla Tribune.

A total of 259 newly elected student leaders have been invited to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official residence.

They reached Ganabhaban around 1:45pm on Saturday.

The ruling party’s panel won 23 of the 25 posts in the Ducsu elections, which took place after 29 years.

The top post was clinched by one of the quota movement organizers, Nurul Haque Nur.
