Student cabinet polls will increase students’ confidence level

Student cabinet elections were held in six districts of the country.

The voting began at 8am and ended at 2pm on Thursday in these districts.

In Satkhira: Upazila Secondary Education Officer Abul Hossain said: “The voting took place is a festive manner in more than 100 of educational institutions.”

In coordination with the students, there were Election Commission officials; presiding officers; assistant presiding and polling officials were present. Also, law enforcement agency personnel were deployed at all polling centres. 

In Brahmanbaria, students of Annada Government High School were seen casting their votes in an orderly manner. Students there have expressed their satisfaction after casting their valuable votes.

1,758 students cast their votes from the school.

In Pabna, student cabinet polls took place at 392 educational institutions of the district. Total number of voters at the centres was 182,392 

Pabna District Education Officer SM Moslem Uddin said: “The voting ended peacefully, the student were happy exercising their rights.

In Jhenaidah, voting began at 8am and ended at 2pm on Thursday. 

District Education Officer Mozaffar Hossain Palash said: “During the election, the candidates and students were seen to be very enthusiastic.”

In Jhalakathi, voting took place at Jhalakathi High School and Govt Harchandra High School, and teachers of the schools said the voting was peaceful and festive, this will teach our students to practice democracy and create leaders in future.

In Bhola, the student cabinet election took place in 250 educational institutions of the district and ended in a peaceful manner. About 1,200 students cast their votes.

Students of the district said, by practicing such a culture will increase their confidence level.

Bhola Govt Girls High School Principal Md Azharul Haque said: “This election will help students in all aspects of their student life from assisting the weak students to engage in development programs of the school.”
