Re-voting in 3 polling centres of Brahmanbaria 2 Wednesday

The voting will take place from 8am to 4pm

Re-voting in three suspended polling centres of the Brahmanbaria 2 (Sarail-Ashuganj) constituencyis scheduled to be held on Wednesday.

Earlier, the Election commission had decided to suspend voting at three polling centres in the December 30 general election due to various irregularities.

The voting will take place from 8am to 4pm.

The three centres are Jatrapur Government Primary School, Bahadurpur Government Primary School, and Sohagpur South Government Primary School.

The total number of votes in these three centres is 10,574.

Assistant Returning Officer and Ashuganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Moushumi Bin Hira, while talking to reporters,said that extensive security measures have been taken to make the elections free and fair.

Three executive magistrates will be responsible for the three centres.

In the constituency, BNP candidate Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan is ahead with 82,723 votes. His nearest rival, Awami League rebel candidate (independent) Moinuddin Moin has 72,564 votes,with independent candidate Ziaul Haque Mridha securing 39,305 votes.
