Ismail died on Monday morning while undergoing treatment
An activist of ruling Awami League—who sustained serious injuries in a clash during Sunday’s voting in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi—has died in hospital.
The deceased, Ismail Hossain, 49—son of one Azhar Ali of Palpur Dharampur village in Godagari upazila—died on Monday morning.
The clash between activists of ruling Awami League and opposition BNP occurred in front of the Dharampur High School polling centre, on Sunday afternoon, while voting for the 11th general election was ongoing, reports our district correspondent.
Ismail was severely injured in the clash and taken to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH), where he died on Sunday morning, while undergoing treatment.
