One was a voter shot dead by police
Two persons have been killed, one of them shot by police, in Comilla during voting in the 11th general election.
Bachchu Mia, 45, a resident of Sondail village in Nangalkot upazila, was killed in a clash between the supporters of Awami League and BNP in the morning in Murgaon outside a polling centre, said Nangalkot Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Ashraf.
Locals said Bachchu Mia was a BNP supporter. He died at Comilla Medical College Hospital.
Muzibur Rahman, 35, son of Sujat Ali of Muradnagar village of Chandina upazila, was shot dead by police at Pachhim Baleshwar Primary School while allegedly stealing away ballots.
Presiding Officer Humayun Kabir said he was an ordinary voter and not a political activist. He was stealing election material when on-duty police shot him.
Chandina police OC Abu Faisal also confirmed the incident.
