Ruling Awami League has said that people are freely casting their votes across the country.
"BNP and Jamaat are trying to create an atmosphere of terror during the election, and are lying in front of the media," Awami League Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak told a press briefing at the party president’s office, in Dhanmondi, around 11am.
He said five Awami League men have been killed since Saturday, in BNP-Jamaat attacks. He also listed a number of attacks on polling centres and Awami League campaign offices.
BNP-Jamaat-Oikya Front activists carried out attacks and injured over 100 across the country, Nanak said.
He also claimed that people of Bangladesh were boycotting BNP-Jamaat-Oikya front because of their violent politics.
He alleged that BNP-Jamaat activists had opened fire on police at Kishoreganj and snatched riffles from the police.
He claimed that police arrested 23 BNP-Jamaat men for trying to bribe voters in Dhaka 1 constituency.
