Only those who have no hope of victory will attempt to foil the election by creating disruption and anarchy, he said

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said the opposition BNP leaders are frustrated sensing their clear defeat in the December 30 general election.

Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, remarked this while talking to reporters at a meeting held at the Noakhali district unit Awami League office, on Saturday around noon.

He said: “Only those who have no hope of victory will attempt to foil the election by creating disruption and anarchy.”

He furthered that the phone conversations of two top BNP leaders clearly indicate the party’s current situation.

“They will not be able to secure more than 20, 22, or 30 seats in the polls. I do not know for sure but they might get more,” he added.

Awami League nominated candidate, for Noakhali 4 constituency, Ekramul Karim Chowdhury among other senior party leaders, were also present at the event.
