Abdur hoped that people would vote for “boat” and claimed the Awami League would accept the election result regardless of the outcome
Awami League Joint General Secretary Abdur Rahman has said the 11th general election will be a role model for peaceful elections to the world.
He made the statement at a press briefing at the Awami League president’s political office in Dhanmondi around noon.
Abdur expressed the hope that people would vote for “boat”, and claimed the Awami League would accept the election result regardless of the outcome.
The senior politician also said: “Awami League never grabbed power,but came to power through people’s votes.”
He claimed the whole world is admiring the development of Bangladesh.
The joint general secretary said he hoped Sheikh Hasina would be elected as prime minister for a third consecutive term, and a fourth time overall.
He also alleged that a total of 461 leaders, activists and supporters of Awami League had been injured by attacks by BNP, Jamaat and Oikya Front activists while conducting election campaigns.
The 11th general election will be held on December 30.
