Additional 111 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed a day before the December 30 general election to ensure law and order across the country.
Earlier on December 18, a total of 1,016 platoons of BGB were deployed across country.
BGB Public Relations Official Muhammad Mohsin Reza said the additional platoons were deployed in the field on Saturday to ensure optimum security during election.
“As per the directives of the Election Commission, 1,016 platoons BGB were deployed earlier on December 18 and the additional 111 platoons were deployed gradually later,“ he said.
The 11th parliamentary election will be held on December 30 with the Election Commission declaring all preparations for the polls have been completed.
On Saturday morning, the Election Commission has started delivering election materials- ballot box, ballot papers and other elements- to the polling stations across the country.
