BTRC directed mobile phone operators to keep the connections available until further notice
Bangladesh’s 3G and 4G internet services have resumed.
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) directed mobile phone operators to keep the bandwidth technologies available to the public, after 8am on Friday, until further notice.
Requesting to remain anonymous, a senior official of a mobile phone operator said: “The process of making 3G and 4G internet services accessible started after 8am following the directives of BTRC.”

On Thursday after 10pm, the telecom regulator issued a directive, to all mobile network operators, to block their 3G and 4G services across the country until further notice; ahead of general elections on Sunday.
Only 2G services, both voice and data, have remained active throughout the shutdown.
