The letter followed a country-wide ban issued by the Election Commission, on use of motorcycles from 12am midnight of December 28 to midnight January 1

The Reporters Forum for Election and Democracy (RFED), on Sunday, sent a letter to Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda, urging him to lift the ban on motorcycles being used by journalists on the day of the 11th general election.

The letter followed a country-wide ban issued by the Election Commission, on use of motorcycles from 12am midnight of December 28 to midnight of January 1.

The RFED sent the letter seeking the lift, as it otherwise will greatly hamper the reporting process in one of the most important events of the country.

The election is slated for next Sunday.
