He said no evil forces would be able to foil the December 30 general election
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said Jatiya Oikya Front people are carrying out attacks on own men and blaming the ruling party.
“People have realized their conspiracies. The people of the country will give a befitting reply by voting for boat [ Awami League’s electoral symbol] on December 30,” he said, while paying tribute to martyrs at a memorial in Feni to mark Victory Day on Sunday.
Obaidul said: “They have joined hands with evil forces,being aware of their defeat in the upcoming election, and have engaged in sabotage acts. The government or Awami League has nothing to do with that.”
The Awami League leader said two of their activists were killed in Noakhali and Faridpur in poll-time violence last week. “But no BNP activist has been killed yet.”
Obaidul said no evil forces would be able to foil the December 30 general election.
He said BNP candidate Mahbub Uddin Khokon was shot by police in Noakhali’s Sonaimuri on Saturday.
“BNP activists vandalized Awami League’s election office and several shops. Khokon was shot when police went to the spot to bring the situation under control,” the Awami League leader said.
