She will address a public rally in Kotalipara
Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has reached Gopalganj's Tungipara to start her campaign for the upcoming 11th general election.
She reached Tungipara around 2:10pm on Wednesday.
Hasina placed a wreath at the grave of her father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and offered a prayer.
Hasina’s younger sister Sheikh Rehana, Awami League Presidium Member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, joint secretaries Jahnagir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, organizing secretaries AFM Bahauddin Nasim, BM Mozammel Haque and Ahmed Hossain and MP Sheikh Helal Uddin accompanied her during the time.
Later, the Awami League chief will address a public rally at the Sheikh Lutfar Rahman Government Degree College grounds, in Kotalipara, as part of her election campaign.
Hasina will stay overnight at her ancestral home in Tungipara. She will exchange views with local Awami League leaders and activists.
Earlier Hasina began her journey by road around 8:30am from her official residence—Ganabhaban.
She will return to Dhaka on Thursday.
The Awami League chief is contesting for Gopalganj 3 and Rangpur 6 constituencies for the December 30 election.
