Both parties blame each other for the clash
Leaders and activists of Awami League and BNP have clashed in Noakhali’sKabirhat area, leaving at least 30 people injured.
A number of shops were also vandalized during the clash that occurred on Tuesday morning.
Police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Kabirhat police station Officer-in-Charge MirzaHasan said BNP and Jubo League had arranged separate street rallies in Kabirhat Zero Point area.
As supporters of the rival parties were marching towards their respective rallies, they chased each other, triggering the clash, he said.
Additional policemen have been deployed in the area, the OC said, adding that the situation is now under control.

BNP’sKabirhatMunicipality Unit President MostafizurRahmanManju said activists of Chhatra League and Jubo League, associated wings of the ruling Awami League, chasedtheBNPsupportersas they were gathering near KabirhatBazar to attend the street rally.
BNP Standing Committee Member Moudud Ahmed, who is contesting from Noakhali 5 constituency, was supposed to attend the rally.
About 20 BNP activists were injured in the attack, Manju said, adding that the injured were admitted to local hospitals.
Refuting the BNP allegation, Jubo League’s KabirhatUpazilaUnit General Secretary Nazrul Islam said local BNP activists attacked their party supporters in Kabirhat area, leaving at least 10 people injured.
