Longstanding Jatiya Party member Rintu Anowar submitted a letter of resignation to the party leader after being denied the position he felt he deserved
After being deprived of his nomination, Jatiya party leader HM Ershad’s publicity advisor, Rintu Anowar, resigned his post on Thursday.
On Thursday evening, he sent a one line formal written resignation to the Jatiya Party leader which read,” Considering the emerging situations and present circumstances, I think we will not be able to do politics together any longer.”
Rintu Anowar has been in Jatiya Party politics for a long time, taking up the mantle and reviving Jatiya Party in Feni politics. Therefore, he was under the impression that he would be the Jatiya Party’s nominated candidate for the Feni-3 constituency and thus secure a chance to be elected in the upcoming general elections.
However, after declaration of the election schedule, Lt Gen (retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury bought Awami League’s nomination of Feni-3 constituency, then five days later he decided to join the Jatiya Party alliance.
HM Ershad appointed Lt Gen (retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury as a presidium member and party chairman security advisor.
Disappointed by the leader’s sudden change of plans, Rintu decided to leave the party for good.
Other party members also expressed disapproval at this unexpected move by the party leader and proclaimed their decision to leave also.
