The 11th general election will be held across Bangladesh on December 23
The Election Commission has appointed deputy commissioners of all the districts and two divisional commissioners as returning officers (ROs) to conduct the 11th general elections.
A notification, signed by Election Commission Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed, was issued on in this regard.
Election Commission Joint Secretary SM Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter on Friday.
Besides, Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) have been appointed as assistant returning officers. In some constituencies, assistant commissioners (Land) have been made assistant returning officers.

The deputy commissioners have been made returning officers for all the constituencies of the district concerned except Dhaka and Chittagong, reports the UNB.
In Dhaka, the divisional commissioner has been made the returning officer for 15 constituencies while the deputy commissioner for the rest five constituencies of the district.
In Chittagong, the divisional commissioner has been made the returning officer for six constituencies while the deputy commissioner for the rest 10 constituencies of the district.
When is the election?
The 11th general election will be held across Bangladesh on December 23.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda announced the date while addressing the nation from the Election Commission, office in Dhaka’s Agargaon, on Thursday evening.
As per the timetable announced by the CEC, candidates must file their nomination papers, either online or manually, from Friday to November 19.
The returning officers will then scrutinize the nomination papers on November 22, with November 29 set as the final date for withdrawals.
