While waiting for his ID card to be brought to him, alleged AL supporters tried to kick him out of the polling center

BNP mayoral candidate in Barisal City Corporation election Mujibur Rahman Sarwar was uninformed of his voter ID number when he went to cast his vote on Monday.

Around 8:30 am, Sarwar, accompanied by several BNP leaders and activists, went to Syeda Mujibunnessa Secondary School centre to cast his vote.

When he was asked to provide his voter ID number, Sarwar was unable to do so, and the assistant presiding officer of the booth, said that without the voter ID, he would be unable to cast his vote.

Mujibur continued to wait inside the centre, and was finally able to cast his vote when someone brought his voter ID card to him.

Meanwhile, a group of people, wearing badges of the boat symbol, started screaming slogans and creating chaos outside the centre; and 20-25 of them tried to enter inside.

Then, police came to Sarwar's rescue and removed him from the centre.

As soon as Sarwar exited, the people outside surrounded him, and his companions, and tried to chase him away. Police placed Sarwar inside their car and removed him from the voting area.
