Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Thursday said he has instructed all the deputy commissioners (DCs) to work responsibly to make sure the next national election is held fairly, reports UNB.
Talking to reporters after the fifth session of the conference of deputy commissioners (DCs) in Dhaka, he also urged them to coordinate with law enforcement agencies so that people can cast their votes freely.
After the schedule for the parliamentary elections is announced, the minister said, the members of the law enforcement agencies will be ready to beef up security across the country to prevent any possible unrest.
He said adequate manpower and logistical support have been provided to the law enforcers and more will be given, if necessary.
