BUET students boycott classes

Students of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) boycotted classes on Saturday demanding the arrest of those who attacked one of their fellows on April 9.

Arif Raihan Dwip, 25, a third year student of the department of Mechanical Engineering, was stabbed by an unidentified youth at the Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall of the university on April 9.

They also held a protest procession on the campus in the morning and submitted a memorandum to Vice Chancellor SM Nazrul Islam with a 6-point demand, including security on the campus and the punishment of the attackers.

Talking to UNB, Vice Chancellor SM Nazrul Islam said they would take necessary steps to arrest the culprits and ensure security on the campus.
