Educational institutions who do not have their own land will not be given monthly pay order (MPO) facilities in the future, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said on Tuesday.
Institutions given MPOs that are set up in rented houses will have to relocate to their own places within the next five years, she said.
The education minister made the remark while addressing a virtual meeting on the MPO policy (revised) for 2020 of private educational institutions, reports BSS.
Dr Dipu Moni also said educational institutions run by trusts or organizations will be included in the MPO based on the opinions of the members of the trust or organization.
Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, Secondary and Higher Secondary Division Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain and senior officials of the ministry also attended the meeting.
