The online admission process for Class XI in the 2020-2021 academic year is set to start on August 9 and end on September15.
Dhaka Education Board Chairman Prof Ziaul Haque and College Inspector of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Harun-ur-Rashid confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Sunday.
All necessary admission information will be published on the website of the Board of Education on Monday, they added.
After the first detection of Covid-19 in Bangladesh on March 8, followed by the first report of death on March 18, the Education Ministry closed all schools, colleges, and universities from March 18 to 31, and later extended the closure till April 9 due to the global pandemic.
On April 7, the ministry decided to extend the shutdown till the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
Due to the situation, the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, scheduled to start on April 1, were also postponed indefinitely.
On June 1, the Ministry of Education decided to allow the administrative offices of education institutions in Bangladesh to reopen on a limited scale to carry out administrative functions, as necessary.
A decision on the reopening of educational institutions is yet to be taken.
