Since March 26, the government imposed a general holiday across the country
The education ministry has decided to publish result of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations in two weeks after the reopening office.
“Result of the SSC and equivalent examinations will be published within two weeks after the reopening of the offices,” said Mahbub Hossain, secretary to the Secondary and Higher Education Division, told Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday.
At the same time, the ministry has taken all preparations to publish the results by mid-May, provided the coronavirus situation in the country improves by that time.
Since March 26, the government imposed a general holiday across the country, and gradually put more than 50 districts under total or partial lock down to curb the spread of coronavirus.
“We have directed the education Boards to complete task for publishing the result within two weeks,” he added.
On Tuesday, Mahbub Hossain held a videoconference with heads of all education boards in the country in this regard.
“We have completed 70% of our task in order to publish SSC result. But, teachers were unable to send the answer papers to the board due to the transport halt,” Dhaka Education Board Chairman Professor Ziaul Haque told Dhaka Tribune.
“It will take only 15 days to publish result after we received the answer sheet and other documents,” he added.
Besides, the education boards were also considering alternative ways to publish the results, if the situation will not be improved within short time.
Education boards have been planning to publish the result in education board’s websites as well as sending message to the guardians of students to avoid gathering, said an official of Dhaka Board.
“They have also collected the phone numbers of students from every school to send the results through SMS,” he added.
