Chinese university intends to strengthen cooperation with DU

University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute, China expressed this willingness after a three-member delegation led by Prof Pradeep Ray called on DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman

A leading Chinese university has intended to strengthen joint collaboration and work together with Dhaka University (DU).

The university especially wants to focus on the innovation and entrepreneurship areas, a DU press release said yesterday.

University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute, China expressed this willingness after a three-member delegation led by Prof Pradeep Ray called on DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman.

“The possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard was also discussed during the meeting,” the release added.

The delegation included Prof Kwee-Yan Teh and Prof Dr Soong Chul of the same university.

Director of DU Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Center Associate Prof Md Rashedur Rahman, DU Management Information Systems Department’s Associate Prof Md Rakibul Hoque and Director of DU Public Relations Office Mahmood Alam were present at the time, among others.

During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interests, exchanging views to explore collaboration between DU Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Centre and University of Michigan-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute.
