A total of 20 students from five Agami-directed Dhaka schools participated in the competition with great zeal, conviction and enthusiasm which provided them with an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence through poems
Agami Education Foundation organised an In-house Recitation Competition on Saturday, December 15, 2018, for the students of Grade IV and V.
This event was specially organised to mark the Victory Day and enhance the confidence and skills of the students.
A total of 20 students from five Agami-directed Dhaka schools participated in the competition with great zeal, conviction and enthusiasm which provided them with an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence through poems.
The contenders came up with poems from their text book on the topic “Bijoy Dibosh” and recited with beautiful actions and expressions which reflected the concerns of children for the country’s momentous victory.
The competition was judged by Dr Shahadat Hossain Nipu, Deputy Director of Bangla Academy and Professor Sayma Feroz Mita of Government Bangla College.
They judged students’ performance on parameters like confidence, pronunciation, voice modulation, and on the overall presentation.
From class IV, Kashfia Rubi of Aalok Shikkhaloy stood first, while, Liza Akter of Music for Development and Mohammad Saiful Bepari of Sohagswapnadha Pathshala secured second and third position respectively.
Among Class V students, Tabiba Islam Alif of PSD Pearabag School was declared as the first position holder, Emon Atiq of Aalok Shikkhaloy stood second and third position went to Sanjida Sheikh of the same school.
After the completion, judges and Executive Committee members of AEF distributed prizes among the winners.
All the participants who didn’t secure place was given a special consolation prize.
On the occasion, three students from Shurerdhara were also given prizes and certificates for excelling in co-curricular activities (on-spot art competition).
The judges appreciated and applauded the performance of the participants and the feeling of love and respect for our motherland and its victory.
AEF Executive Director congratulated the winners and stressed on the need for co-curricular activity to make them better citizens.
While congratulating the students, Dr Mohammed Mosihuzzaman, President of AEF appreciated the efforts of all the students and encouraged them to participate in such competitions.
Among other, teachers from each participating schools and AEF staffs were also present on the occasion.
Books were distributed as prizes not only among the winners, but also among all the participants, courtesy Somoy Prakashana.
The programme finally ended with the concluding speech from Nafisa Khanam.
