The government has given approval to two more private universities.
The universities are Bandarban University and Shah Makhdum Management University.
The Education Ministry issued separate notifications on Thursday in this regard.
Of them, Bandarban University is situated at the main road of Bandarban district town while Shah Makhdum Management University is in Rajshahi.
With these, the number of private universities in the country now stands at 101.

State Minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing has founded the Bandarban University and BM Shamsul Haque is the founder of Shah Makhdum Management University.
As per the notifications, the universities got temporary approval under Section 35 and Sub-sections 1 and 2 of Section 7 of the Private University Act-2010 tagging 23 conditions.
On April 18, the government approved two other new private universities -- Khulna Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah University and Ahsania Mission Science and Technology University in Rajshahi.
