Prize giving ceremony of British Council’s Book Reading Competition held on last Thursday and Sunday.
Book reading competition is a flagship outreach program run by the British Council Cultural Centre since 2010. Currently, 100 educational institutions from Dhaka, Chittagong, and Sylhet are partnered with the program.
The British Council held prize giving ceremony at two of its partnering universities.
One of the ceremonies took place at BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology. Around 490 students participated in book reading competition from their Fall Semester.
The other one was held as University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh premises on Thursday. More than 300 students took part in it.
The program aims to create access to “Best of British” resources, develop reading habit in English, help acquire language skill among young learners and adult students and finally to promote “Reading is fun”.
