Coaching centres to remain shut during HSC exams
The Education Ministry on Tuesday ordered coaching centres to close from Thursday in a bid to prevent the leaking of question scripts for the upcoming Higher Secondary Certificate exams. “The coaching centres will remain closed until the examinations conclude,” Abu Saleh Mohammed Sajjad, deputy secretary to Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Division under the ministry, told reporters on Tuesday. This year’s HSC and equivalent examinations are scheduled to begin on April 2. As part of its move to combat cheating, the ministry has prepared alternative sets of questions for each subject.

On Sunday, the ministry’s officials decided to send each set of question papers to the test centres, with the set to be used in the exam being decided only 25 minutes before the start time. “The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Dhaka will arrange a ‘lottery’ to select the set,”  the division’s secretary Md Sohrab Hossain said.
