Progressive Student Alliance has called a strike in all educational institutions on January 29, protesting the attack on Dhaka University students by the ruling Awami League's student front Bangladesh Chhatra League.
It will also hold a rally at the base of Raju Sculpture on the DU campus on January 26.
Imran Habib, coordinator of the alliance, announced the programs at DU Madhur Canteen on Wednesday afternoon.
The organization of left-leaning students boycotted classes at Dhaka University (DU) on Wednesday, while other students of the university under the banner of ‘Students against Repression’ protested the attack.

Meanwhile, Chhatra League leaders and activists have taken position on different points of the university campus by putting up banners of a platform which they call Sachetan Shikkharti.
The ruling party’s student front came up with the move protesting the besieging of DU Vice Chancellor Prof Akhtaruzzaman by the alliance's leaders and activists on Tuesday.
Chhatra League said confining the VC to his office was a slanderous act, which humiliated him.
The attack was unleashed as the DU students laid siege to the VC office, confining Prof Akhtaruzzaman there for around four hours in protest against a previous assault on them by the Chhatra League leaders and activists.
Tuesday's attack left at least 30 students injured, including 10 in critical condition, all of whom were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and the DU medical centre.
