Private Universities celebrate recognition of March 7 speech as world heritage
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s indelible March 7 speech has recently been acknowledged by Unesco as a world heritage. On Saturday, countless people took to the streets to celebrate the latest global honour accorded to the Father of the Nation. Under the umbrella of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB), dozens of private universities paraded their own colours and banners to express pride and joy on the occasion. The APUB thanked the universities for their spontaneous participation at the rally. Thousands of rallies took place nationwide as Awami League party members and citizens alike took to the streets. All the rallies in Dhaka flowed like rivers to Suhrawardy Udyan where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was addressing the people. Countless other events were organized throughout the country, letting as many people as possible join in on the celebration.
