The department of computer science and engineering at University of Asia Pacific (UAP) is set to organise the regional final round of International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), titled “2017 ACM-ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest.”
The contest will be held at the UAP Dhaka campus from 3pm to 5pm on Saturday, November 10.
ACM-ICPC is an annual multi-tier competitive programming competition among the universities across the world.
UAP Vice Chancellor and Asia Dhaka Regional Contest Director Prof Jamilur Reza Choudhury said a total of 150 teams will compete for the upcoming contest.
Two teams from Nepalese universities are going to take part in the contest this year.
A total of 1,456 team members from 85 universities were registered and took part in a preliminary online contest held on September 23 this year.
The 2018 World Finals will be held at Peeking University in China’s Beijing from April 15-20 next year.
The inauguration ceremony will take place on November 10.
