The legacy of Abinta Kabir at Dhaka University
A cyber centre and archive has been inaugurated on Wednesday at Dhaka University (DU) named after Abinta Kabir, who was killed during the Holey Artisan attack on July 1 last year. The “Abinta Kabir Cyber Center and Archive” is part of the Fine Arts Faculty Library, and was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique with the Abinta Kabir Foundation. After the inauguration, a documentary on Abinta’s brief but brilliant life was shown at a memorial. It is our deepest regret that we failed to save her," he added. Recalling Abinta's memory, her mother Ruba Ahmed became emotional and burst into tears at the function.
