43 cases have been filed against the arrestees under the Narcotics Control Act
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), in separate anti-drug operations, arrested 53 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in the city during the last 24 hours till 6am on Friday.
According to a DMP press release, the police teams arrested the drug peddlers and abusers and seized the illegal drugs while conducting the anti-drug drives in the city's various areas.

During the operations, some 61.92gm heroin, 930gm cannabis, 28 syringes with injectable drugs, and 15,861 yaba pills were seized by the law enforcers, the release added.
Police filed total 43 cases against those arrested in the drives with the police stations concerned under the Narcotics Control Act.
