Seven people were hospitalized after the August 25 incident
Another victim of the August 25 gas pipeline blast at Mirpur has died in a Dhaka hospital, taking the death toll to five.
Renu Begum, 35, succumbed to 38% burns on her body at the Intensive Care Unit around 6:30am on Wednesday, said Dr SM Ayub Hossain, resident surgeon at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS).
Seven people were admitted to SHNIBPS after being caught in the gas line explosion and subsequent fire on the ground floor of a six-storey building in Block C of Mirpur 11 around 11:15pm on August 25.
Rina Akter, 50, who suffered 70% burns died the next day.

Rawshan Ara Begum, 70, and Md Shafiqul Islam, 35, who had suffered 85% burns, and Sazzad Hossain Sumon, 40, who had suffered 45% burns, died on August 27.
Rafiqul Islam, Rawshan’s son and owner of the building where the explosion occurred, said they had called a repairman named Sumon to come and fix the pipeline as the gas flow had been low for a week.
He said the sudden blast and subsequent fire occurred when Sumon lit a matchstick to light a stove to check the gas flow after repair works.
Two other people -- Naznin, 25, with 27% burns and her daughter Nowshin, 5, with 15% burns -- are still undergoing treatment and fighting for their lives at the hospital.
