He was arrested in a case lodged over Hefazat’s mayhem in Baitul Mukarram area in March this year
A court here on Tuesday sent to jail the organizing secretary of now dissolved committee of Hefazat-e-Islam, Azizul Haque Islamabadi in a case lodged over his group’s mayhem in the capital.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder passed the order as police produced the Hefazat leader before the court and pleaded to keep him behind bars till the conclusion of the probe in the case.
Earlier on May 3, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Masudur Rahman had placed him on a three-day remand in a case lodged with Paltan Police Station over Hefajat’s mayhem in Baitul Mukarram area in March, 2021.
The same court on that day had also placed him on another four-day remand in another case filed over that same incident with Paltan police station.
